I had hoped to show you a festive picture of the christingle that Jess received at the church service this evening. Unfortunately, having already blown out the flame (brought from Bethlehem, don't you know) she managed to scoff the whole thing while other kids were still queuing for theirs, so you just get a photo of the leftovers.

She also distinguished herself by asking "When do we get the jelly tots?" every couple of minutes, and singing Jingle Bells throughout the service, but especially during the prayers.

It's entirley possible that our annual trip to church isn't sufficient to instill in her the correct behaviour in a Religious Establishment. Or she's picking up on my atheist tendencies.
